About KitCatSwag
Who's That Streamer?

Who IS KitCatSwag?
Well hello there! I'm THE KitCatSwag, also known as KitCat or Katie. My pronouns are They/She and I'm a USA-based VTuber from the lovely state of Washington (not D.C., the other one). I stream primarily on Twitch as of writing this, but would like to branch out to other platforms such as TikTok (where I already post video content!). I'm a variety streamer with a primary focus on horror, but I generally stream whatever I'm interested in at the time, such as cozy games and games from my youth. I also stream art as well! I'm really bad at staying consistent, but I typically stream every Saturday & Sunday with optional Monday streams at 4 - 8 PM (PST).
Like I mentioned I have a preference for horror games, specifically indie horror games. One of the series I do on my streams is my "Itch.io Horror Collection" where I play whatever shit I find on itch.io that looks interesting. Even though I'm a smaller channel, I like to give a platform to smaller indie developers and encourage others to check them out, especially since some of my favorite games were made by indie devs!
I also archive all of my VODs. If you'd like to find a good series to start, my personal favorites are my Indie Horror playlist and the Candice DeBébé trilogy.

Who is KitCat?
KitCat is the lovely vessel that you see here!
KitCat is a genetically-engineered cat girl who was manufactured in the “Special Investigators of Mythical Persons (S.I.M.P.)” laboratory in an experiment to make animal-human hybrids. This experiment was funded by a rich billionaire named Melon Usk (pronounced me-lawn uh-sk). In an amazing breakthough, scientists found a way to take cat DNA and insert it into a very early-stage human embryo. The cat DNA was specifically taken from a tuxedo cat with the “chimera” mutation, which explains her split-colored hair. Naturally, her hair color is black and white, but she dyes the white half purple because she likes the color.
During her time at S.I.M.P., she was referred to as “Experiment #420-69” instead of being given a proper name. The excuse that the scientists gave was that they "didn’t want to get too attached in the case that she wasn’t able to live long, thus exclusively called her by her scientific name" however, an anonymous figure at S.I.M.P. alleged that the head scientist "viewed KitCat as more of a product to be manufactured rather than a living being."
She spent most of her toddler years at the lab being supervised by scientists to make sure she was actually alive and living. Every day consisted of multiple tests and examinations to see if she was capable of functioning just as well as a normal human baby, on top of being fed, entertained, etc..
Once she reached the age of 6, she spent her first couple years as a child being home-schooled at the lab. They wanted to test if she had any sort of severe learning disabilities before placing her in a public school. Once she proved to the scientists that she was capable of learning on par with average kids her age, she was moved into a loving foster family and sent to a public school, still required to send reports back to the lab on her progress and development. Her foster family gave her the name "KitCat" due to her love for the candy bar "KitKats" and eventually ended up officially adopting her.
Her lore is still currently in development. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait and see what comes next. Rumors say that she's currently in the job market...

Who is Catspurr?
Catspurr is the familiar of KitCat! They go by any pronouns, but is primarily referred to by he/they, and is believed to be genderless. (Credit to Yugiwhoa for coming up with the name Catspurr)
They are a cat ghost, scientific name Felis Mortuus, and is believed to have also been an experiment at S.I.M.P., although as of now, we are unaware of his origins. I think I heard that there were some documents lying around somewhere...
A notable feature of Catspurr is that they are a shapeshifter. They have been seen shapeshifting into anything, object or humanoid, however, they will always retain their distinct face, cat ears, and color. Speaking of which, Catspurr is a minty/blue colored, noncorporeal being that emits a feint glow akin to phosphorus materials (glow-in-the-dark). Sticking your hand inside of them gives the sensation of sticking your hand in a non-newtonian fluid; like oobleck.
Catspurr showed up at KitCat's house one day, akin to the "cat distribution system" phenomenon on the internet. He essentially inserted themself into KitCat's home and was welcomed with open arms. They are relatively lazy and likes to sit around and do nothing all day. He does seem to have an affinity for expensive items, such as his "$" gold chain, and loves attention despite being relatively introverted in nature.
Catspurr is unable to make any vocal sounds himself, but eye witnesses have claimed to have seen them communicating thru electronic means including spirit boxes, radios, and TTS software.

Who is Katie?
I'm Katie! Katie is the person behind the screen! I'm currently anonymous and would like to keep it that way. I've seen the horrors of internet stalkers and other such issues and take my privacy very seriously.
There isn't too much to me. I'm a high school drop out and my interests include gaming, streaming (obvi), arts & crafts, being a furry, animals, and content creation as a whole. I also am a proud member of the LGBT+ community and identify as Lesbian and Non-Binary (Demigirl to be specific).
I honestly don't remember when I started my pursuit into art. I think I've always drawn, even as a little kid, but digging into the deepest parts of my brain, I think what got me really into art was a combination of early-day DeviantArt and meeting my current BFF Soul who is also an artist and was so at the time we met on Toontown Online. A huge stepping stone in my early-stage art career were the plethera of free anime base art on the internet, mostly on dA. Some of the few remaining YouTube videos I made were of me using a combination of MS Paint and GIMP (good free program, would recommend) to play around with these bases. I didn't start drawing my own art until around 2013-14 when my mom bought me a sketchbook. I spent most of my middle school days being a huge emo loner, listening to almost exclusively My Chemical Romance and Icon for Hire, and drawing in my sketchbooks. Pretty sure I filled up at least a couple. Eventually, my main pursuit of digital art would begin when my mom bought me my first drawing tablet: the Turcom TS-6608. (I still would recommend this budget tablet to anyone wanting to dabble into digital art!!)
I originally started as a furry artist, only ever really drawing mine and my friend Baily's at-the-time fursonas. I was also extremely into the French otome game My Candy Love (now known as My Candy Love: Highschool Life as they've had FOUR spinoffs since I played) and was also starting to get into My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Getting into those helped me branch out my artworks from just furry art to anime and MLP art. I believe to this day that both of these have heavily influenced my current artstyle.
(Art by: me! It's pretty much the only self portrait I've done)

I grew up in a family of gamers, so of course gaming was one of the first things I learned how to do. One of the first games I remembered playing was the game "Night Light" by GTE Interactive Media. It's a game about teaching kids not to be afraid of the dark by showing them how creepy things look at night, but once you shine a light on it, you realize it's just a normal object. I feel like this kickstarted my love of horror and generally creepy things. I wouldn't really get much into horror until I began watching YouTube at a young age.
One of the first YouTubers I watched was PewDiePie, particularly his Amnesia series. I fell in love with how scared I felt watching him play; masochistic I know. I knew deep down that it wasn't real and that I wasn't in any real danger, but something about the adrenaline rush I'd feel was really fun. Of course being a relatively unsupervised child on the internet led me down the rabbit hole of early 2010's YouTube, a time I remember fondly; albeit with a few hiccups (watching a lot of content that was DEFINITELY not approrpiate at my age). Ever since growing up with the platform, I've basically never gone a day without watching YouTube or any kind of related content. I truly love modern day content creators.
Unfortunately, gaming and social media in combination with my declining mental health gradually led me to dropping out my senior year of high school. I believe the beginning of my mental health declination was jumpstarted by a burnout episode that lasted two years in late elementary school. Unfortunately this was fueled by me being bullied. Thankfully the student bullying didn't really affect me much, but I was also being bullied by my teachers. This took a huge toll on me and still has to this day. While I am undiagnosed, I have a feeling that I may be on the Autism spectrum and I believe that this was part of the reason on why I was treated the way I was. Things got better when I moved to a differnet school district, but unfortunately during my high school years I hit another burnout episode, thus causing me to drop out my senior year.

A few years of sitting on my ass and doing nothing but gaming for 12 hours a day everyday is when the COVID pandemic hit. Nothing really changed much. I felt a little more lonely, but I was already a NEET so it was something I was used to, however, around this time was also when my family was learning about VTubers. I originally assumed it was just something people with a lot of money could do, but then I learned about indie VTubing. I had always wanted to create content and had even done so, but I knew that faceless gaming content is really hard to push. I wasn't a stranger to representing myself as an OC as I had been in the furry fandom since around 2012-2013 and had also engaged in online roleplaying. I decided to browse the VTubing tag on Twitch to find other indie VTubers. I met quite a few people, most notibly Enrico, Arva, and Monnoe. Engaging with them and their communities made me feel the same "at-home" feeling I felt when I first joined the furry fandom. This is what really inspired me to become my own streamer.
And here we are now! I'm about 3 years into streaming as of writing this and there's so much I want to do. I've built a wonderful community for myself, made many friends, and have started indulging in passions of mine that I never thought I'd be able to, such as content creation and digital art. On top of all this, I've also gained a newfound confidence and have even started volunteering at a local pet shelter in an attempt to get my life somewhat back together!

Fun Fact!
A quick fun-fact about me: Throughout my life, whenever I engage in a piece of media, I always attach to one character who becomes my hyperfixation. These fixations last literal years. Typically these will be characters that I find attractive. A huge coping mechanism of mine has always been Maladaptive Daydreaming and I, to this day, engage in this with my "hyperfixation love targets" as I call them. In order, my hyperfixations have been:
- "Kyo Sohma" from "Fruits Basket"
- "Castiel Veilmont" from "My Candy Love"
- "Lucifer" from the "Obey Me!" franchise
- "Karlach Cliffgate" from "Baldur's Gate 3"
